Story
How Ithara.ae Started
Ithara.ae was founded in 2022 by Anna and Lukas, a couple living in Dubai who were trying to buy meaningful gifts for each other while embracing a minimalist lifestyle.
Frustrated by the lack of thoughtful, experience-based gift options, they realized that finding and gifting high-quality experiences in the UAE was far from easy. Discount platforms didn’t match the sentiment they wanted to convey.
This challenge sparked the idea for Ithara.ae—a platform designed to make gifting exciting, memory-making experiences simple and accessible. Today, it empowers thousands to give unforgettable gifts, from hot air balloons and pottery classes to sunset yacht cruises and luxurious staycations.
What Inspires Ithara.ae
I once asked my grandfather about the best gift he'd ever received. His answer took me back to when he was just 8 years old.
His own granddad arranged an incredible treat—an airplane ride for him and his brother. Back then, flying was a rare thrill.
"I'll never forget it," he said with a gleam in his eye. "It was a real adventure. The plane we flew in, the places we saw from above, the excitement—it stayed with me for over 70 years."
That single, thrilling experience stayed with him, shaping his memories in a way that nothing else did.
This story is why we do what we do.
We're not just about creating experiences; we're on a mission to craft moments that stick in people's minds.
We want to give the kind of extraordinary experiences that become lasting memories, just like the unforgettable flight that became an inseparable part of my grandfather's life.
Our goal is simple: we want to create those unforgettable moments, those stories that people carry with them, that become a part of their lives' fabric.
