Experience test: Acrylic painting

If you are looking for an interesting gift that distinguishes you from everyone else giving material stuff, look no further. The acrylic painting experience is perfect for anyone. Doesn't matter if the person is a creative creature or not at all, this is a fun stress relieving activity that creates positive memories. Read the review below to learn how it went.

Creativity and art are things that do not come naturally to me. However, I found painting and crafting very calming and helped me out of stress. That is the reason I still push myself out of my comfort zone and try to create. Therefore I was very excited to try something new. I was always admiring Instagram videos with artists using the acrylic pouring method on their amazing paintings.

Before booking the activity, I watched inspirational videos to learn the tricks. Very important is a color selection. Make sure you know the colors you want to go to before the workshop. I made my mind based on the place I was to put my painting. My go-to color was turquoise. Not to leave anything for guessing, I also put myself in my favorite turquoise t-shirt. But that was a mistake. Be careful the colors are difficult to wash from your clothes and even though you’ll be provided with a plastic apron if you are passionate about your art you can get dirty easily.

Coming into the shop I was introduced to a person dedicated to me for guidance during my artistic time. He chose the right canvas and helped me select the colors, mixed them, and showed me the different techniques I could choose from. Moving on, I had all my colors in plastic cups ready (altogether it could be 8 different cups). The next step was to cover my canvas with my base color (it's usually white), which helps the other colors move swiftly thought-out the canvas later on. Once this is done, you can start pouring the other colors from your cups on the canvas based on your technique. Pour it all out and it's time to lift and balance my canvas using my hands, so the colors are sliding the canvas until it is all covered and has a desirable shape.

Throughout the painting, you can have your phone attached to the table and take a video. They have the mounts ready on each table.

When you are happy with your masterpiece, you need to leave it there for approx. 3 days to dry out before you can take it home. I said goodbye to my painting which was extremely difficult because I was proud of myself and liked my piece. But it was necessary. The longer we were apart the sweeter was the reunion. After 3 days I picked up my art and I was surprised by how nicely packed it was. Unwrapping the package was an unforgettable experience. I was so tense and prayed for it to not be damaged or anything. And it was perfect, just the way I had left it at the workshop.

Overall it was an amazing experience and I would go again. It’s great for anyone, small or big, groups, couples, and individuals. Try it yourself or give it to your loved one and let us know how it went.
